ABOUT THIS PRACTICE “Gate Games,” “Blob Tag,” and “Monkey Cage” encourage players to move for their teammates and get into good positions to receive a pass. Games encourage passing and spreading out. These can prove difficult concepts to teach young players. They take time to learn. The activities in this session reward players that pass and move. Players learn to use passing as a necessary way to keep the ball for their team.
SOCCER CONTEXT Passing makes soccer the beautiful game it is. No team or player can succeed without passing or ball movement. Passing enables teams to maintain ball possession, navigate through defenses, and create goal scoring opportunities. |
